7. Requests the General Assembly to take necessary action to arrange for the Secretary—General to authorize the head of the Interim Secretariat to use the Special Voluntary Fund and the Trust Fund in accordance with paragraphs 5 and 6 above;
٧- يرجو من الجمعية العامة أن تتخذ الاجراء اللازم لوضع ترتيبات يأذن بمقتضاها اﻷمين العام لرئيس اﻷمانة المؤقتة باستخدام الصندوق الخاص للتبرعات والصندوق الاستئماني وفقاً للفقرتين ٥ و٦ أعلاه؛

58. At the 7th meeting, on 17 January, the Chairman introduced and orally revised draft decision A/AC.241/L.37 entitled " Use of the Special Voluntary Fund and the Trust Fund " .
٥٨ - فــي الجلســة ٧ المعقــودة فــي ١٧ كانون الثاني/يناير، عــرض رئيــس اللجنــة مشروع المقرر A/AC.241/L.37 المعنون " استخدام الصندوق الخاص للتبرعات والصندوق الاستئماني " ونقحه شفويا.

Addendum In conformity with paragraph 43 of document A/AC.241/30, the following countries received financing from the Special Voluntary Fund for their participation in the sixth session of the Negotiating Committee.

The draft resolution before the Assembly decides that the Special Voluntary Fund established pursuant to General Assembly resolution 47/188 may be used by the head of the interim secretariat to assist developing countries affected by desertification and drought to participate in the first conference of the parties to the Convention.

(b) To request the Secretary-General to authorize the head of the interim secretariat to use in 1998 the Special Voluntary Fund and the Trust Fund in accordance with paragraph 7 of decision 8/COP.1;

Narrative justification for the estimates would be similar to that which the Secretariat presently provides for expenditures under the Special Voluntary Fund established by General Assembly Resolution 47/188 for the participation in sessions of the INCD of developing countries affected by drought and desertification, in particular the least developed countries.

The Executive Secretary also reported on the number of participants who were offered travel funding from the Special Voluntary Fund for the resumed session and also announced the actual contributions and outstanding pledges received since the first part of the tenth session of the Committee for both the Special Voluntary Fund and the Trust Fund for supporting the negotiating process.
٢٥ - كما أبلغ اﻷمين التنفيذي اللجنة عن عدد من المشاركين الذين منحهم الصندوق الخاص للتبرعات تمويلا للسفر من أجل المشاركة في الدورة المستأنفة، وأعلن أيضا عن التبرعات الفعلية والتبرعات المعلنة غير المسددة المتلقاة منذ الجزء اﻷول من الدورة العاشرة للجنة، والتي قدمت إلى كل من الصندوق الخاص للتبرعات والصندوق الاستئماني لدعم عملية التفاوض.
