1. In accordance with articles 131 and 132 of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Burundi, the Transitional Parliament met in its first regular session on 29 and 30 August 2002 at Kigobe Palace to evaluate the implementation of the Arusha Agreement.

Under rule 22 of the rules of procedure, the officers elected at the first ordinary meeting of the Conference of the Parties to serve as the Bureau of the Conference of the Parties are to remain in office until the closure of the second ordinary meeting of the Conference of the Parties.
