3. Training for professionals working with and for children

However, it is concerned about the lack of information relating to training for professionals working with and for children.

The Committee is concerned, however, that training for professionals working with and for children is neither multidisciplinary nor systematic and does not include all areas covered by the Optional Protocol.

20. The Committee recommends that the State party strengthen its efforts to systematically disseminate and promote the Convention among the public at large and in particular among professionals working with and for children, and among children themselves.

This is an area where progress is urgent both to provide an effective remedy to child victims and to overcome the challenges presented by the reluctance of professionals working with and for children to address or refer these cases to relevant bodies and institutions.
