We note in this connection that the Court has already taken advantage of advances in science and technology through the adaptation of communication and information technology to improve its working methods and thereby to enhance its cooperation with States parties, particularly on procedures.

The Bureau of the COP has received a recommendation from the Bureau of the CST through the Chair of the CST to have the current Bureau of the CST conduct the work of the CST up to the end of its eighth session, and to have the new Bureau start its work with the new programme of work of the CST for the biennium 2008 - 2009.
وقد تلقى مكتب المؤتمر توصية من مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا من خلال رئيس لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بأن يتولى المكتب الحالي للجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أعمال اللجنة حتى نهاية دورتها الثامنة، وبأن يبدأ المكتب الجديد أعمالـه ببرنامج العمل الجديد للجنة في فترة السنتين 2008-2009.

In the view of my delegation, it would be in the interest of the harmonious development of mankind — and a matter of importance — to encourage international cooperation in the use of science and technology through transfers and the exchange of technical and scientific know-how for peaceful purposes, in order to promote sustainable development and maintain international security.
ويرى وفد بلدي أنه قد يكون في مصلحة التطور المتسق للبشرية تشجيع التعاون الدولي في مجال استخدام العلم والتكنولوجيا من خلال النقل المتبادل للدراية العلمية والتقنية لﻷغراض السلمية، وذلك بغية النهوض بالتنمية المستدامة وصون اﻷمن الدولي.
