وأنشأت اللجنة كذلك فريق الخبراء المعني باﻵثار المترتبة في مجال الاحصاءات على المؤتمرات الرئيسية التي عقدتها اﻷمم المتحدة مؤخرا، ليضع برنامج عمل تنعكس فيه مجالات العمل الرئيسية التي حددها مؤتمر القمة وتبين فيه المجالات التي ينبغي التركيز عليها في العمل الاحصائي الدولي في الميدان الاجتماعي.

72. The Conference of European Statisticians welcomed the progress made in coordinating the work of the Conference of European Statisticians with that of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Statistical Office of the European Communities (EUROSTAT), including the Joint Programme Review (JPR), in order to avoid duplication in the statistical work programmes of those organizations.
٢٧ - ورحب مؤتمر الاحصائيين اﻷوروبيين بالتقدم المحرز في تنسيق عمله مع عمل منظمة التعاون والتنمية في الميدان الاقتصادي والمكتب الاحصائي للاتحادات اﻷوروبية بما في ذلك الاستعراض المشترك للبرامج، بغية تجنب الازدواج في برامج العمل الاحصائي لهذه المنظمات.

19. On the recommendation of the Commission, the Economic and Social Council decided, in its resolution 1993/2, to establish a Statistical Committee to meet biennially; ESCWA's work in statistics will therefore place greater emphasis on standardizing statistical methods and concepts as they pertain to the region and to coordinating statistical work at the regional level.
١٩-٤ وبناء على توصية اللجنة، قرر المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، في قراره ١٩٩٣/٢، إنشاء لجنة احصائية تجتمع مرة كل سنتين؛ ولذلك سيولى، في أعمال اللجنة في مجال الاحصاءات، مزيد من الاهتمام لتوحيد اﻷساليب والمفاهيم الاحصائية فيما يتعلق بالمنطقة، ولتنسيق العمل الاحصائي على المستوى الاقليمي.
