We would like to thank the main sponsor, Brazil, for its effort in presenting the draft resolution. The draft resolution aims to ensure that the impetus provided to volunteerism during the International Year of Volunteers is sustained in the future.

5. At the 15th meeting, on 18 October, the representative of Brazil, on behalf of Brazil, El Salvador and Japan, introduced a draft resolution entitled " Mainstreaming of volunteering for the next decade " (A/C.3/67/L.8), which read:

5. Welcomes the request of the General Assembly to the Secretary-General for UNV to develop a plan of action to integrate volunteering in peace and development in the next decade for consideration at its seventieth session, in line with General Assembly resolution 67/138 of 20 December 2012 on integrating volunteering in the next decade;
5 - يرحِّب بطلب الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يتولى متطوعو الأمم المتحدة وضع خطة عمل لدمج التطوع ضمن عمليات السلام والتنمية في العقد القادم للنظر في الأمر في دورتها السبعين وبما يتفق مع قرار الجمعية العامة 138/67 المؤرخ 20 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2012 بشأن تعميم العمل التطوعي خلال العقد المقبل؛

UNV involvement started in October 2007 with a presentation on volunteerism during the Third Kazakh National Forum on Civil Society.
