Item 5. Review of progress in the implementation of the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the 1990s

Special consideration should therefore be given to the least developed and environmentally most vulnerable countries, including Ethiopia, in accordance with the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the 1990s.
ويجب بالتالي ايلاء اعتبار خاص إلى أقل البلدان نموا وأكثرها تأثرا بالبيئة، ومن ضمنها اثيوبيا، وفقا لبرنامج العمل لصالح أقل البلدان نموا في التسعينات.

This recommendation is in line with those of the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the 1990s, which singles out aid coordination and economic management as priority areas for LDCs and for the assistance of the donor community, in particular of UNDP and the SMF/LDC.

In that context, while it recognized that the least developed countries had the primary responsibility for their development based on appropriate domestic policies, the Commission expressed concern about the problems of the least developed countries within the context of the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the 1990s.
