In 1993 the United Nations General Assembly approved the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women (the Declaration).
وفي عام 1993، أقرت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة الإعلان بشأن القضاء على العنف ضدّ المرأة (الإعلان).

Falling in line with the Secretary General's " UNiTE to End Violence against Women " Campaign, these measures are an example of how government can and should go above and beyond the mere enforcement of laws.
