If a High Contracting Party believes that it will be unable to clear and destroy the cluster munition remnants referred to in paragraph 2 of this Article within that time period, it may submit to a Conference of High Contracting Parties a notification that it intends to extend the deadline for completing the clearance and destruction of such cluster munition remnants, by a period of up to five years.
6- إذا قَدَّر طرف من الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية أنه لن يتمكن من إزالة مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية المشار إليها في الفقرتين 2 من هذه المادة أو تدميرها في غضون المدة الزمنية المطلوبة، جاز له أن يقدم إلى مؤتمر للأطراف المتعاقدة السامية طلباً لتأجيل الموعد النهائي لإتمام عملية إزالة مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية هذه وتدميرها لمدة تصل إلى خمس سنوات.

3. Where cluster munition remnants are located in territories under the control of a High Contracting Party and party to an armed conflict at the time of entry in to force of this protocol for it, that High Contracting Party shall mark and clear, remove or destroy all such cluster munitions remnants as soon as feasible but no later than ten years after the entry into force of the Protocol for it.
3- حيثما تكون مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية موجودة في أقاليم خاضعة لسيطرة طرف من الأطراف المتعاقدة السامية وطرف في نزاع مسلح وقت بدء نفاذ هذا البروتوكول بالنسبة إليه، يقوم هذا الطرف المتعاقد السامي بوضع علامات لتحديد جميع مخلفات الذخائر العنقودية هذه وإزالتها أو سحبها أو تدميرها في أقرب وقت ممكن لا يتجاوز عشر سنوات بعد بدء نفاذ البروتوكول بالنسبة إليه.
