Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is the birthplace of the Garifuna Nation as it was here that a union of African people and Amerindian Arawak and Kalinago people produced the Garifuna, formerly known as the " Black Caribs " .
وتعد سانت فنسنت وجزر غرينادين مهد أمة الغاريفونا، ففيها اتحدت دماء الشعوب الأفريقية مع دماء شعب الأراواك والكاليناغو الهنود الحمر لتنتج الغاريفونا الذين كانوا يُعرفون في السابق باسم " الكاريبيون السود " .

94- ولتشجيع إدماج الشعوب الأصلية ومنع التمييز ضدها، نظمت في الفترة من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر إلى كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2010، بلغات الغاريفونا والكيتشي والمان والآتشي والكانخوبال والكيكتشي وباللغة الإسبانية، حملة بعنوان " نحن النساء الأصليات لدينا حقوق ونطالب بالاعتراف بها " .

60. The work of the Garifuna Heritage Foundation consists in Public Education and Training Programmes, Advocacy Programmes, Public Awareness Programmes and Economic Development Programmes aimed at enabling young Vincentians in Garifuna Communities as well as in other parts of the country to become involved in the development and promotion of the Garifuna Heritage and Culture.
60- ويتمثّل عمل مؤسسة تراث الغاريفونا في وضع برامج لتثقيف الجمهور وتدريبه، وبرامج الدعوة، وبرامج توعية الجمهور، وبرامج التنمية الاقتصادية التي تهدف إلى تمكين شباب سانت فنسنت وجزر غرينادين، داخل مجتمعات الغاريفونا المحلية وكذلك في مناطق أخرى من البلد، من الاشتراك في تنمية وتعزيز تراث شعب الغاريفونا وثقافته.
