52. At its fiftieth session, the SubCommission, in its resolution 1998/6, decided to request Mr. Paulo Sergio Pinheiro to prepare a paper on proposals for the work of the World Conference to be considered by the SubCommission at its fiftyfirst session.
52- قررت اللجنة الفرعية في قرارها 1998/6 الذي اعتمدته في دورتها الخمسين، أن تطلب إلى السيد باولو سيرجيو بينهيرو أن يقوم بإعداد ورقة مقترحات بشأن عمل المؤتمر العالمي كيما تنظر فيها اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الحادية والخمسين.

The Subcommittee agreed on the following items to be proposed to the Committee for inclusion in the agenda of the Subcommittee at its fifty-first session:

In its resolution 1998/29, the SubCommission requested the Special Rapporteur to elaborate a preliminary report based on her working paper and to submit it to the SubCommission at its fiftyfirst session, a progress report at its fiftysecond session and a final report at its fiftythird session.

In its resolution 1998/5, the SubCommission decided, since the subject required careful and comprehensive inquiry, to appoint Mr. Bossuyt as Special Rapporteur with the task of preparing a study on the concept and practice of affirmative action, and requested the Special Rapporteur to submit a preliminary report to the SubCommission at its fiftyfirst session.

31. At its fiftyfourth session, the Commission on Human Rights, in its decision 1998/108, noting SubCommission resolution 1997/27, decided to request the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to submit to the SubCommission at its fiftyfirst session, and every second year thereafter, a list of States in which a state of emergency had been proclaimed or was continued during the reporting period.

The Subcommittee invited ILA to inform the Subcommittee at its fifty-first session about the activities of that organization in relation to the work of the advisory group on dispute settlement relating to private activities in outer space of the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
50- ودعت اللجنة الفرعية رابطة القانون الدولي إلى إبلاغ اللجنة الفرعية في دورتها الحادية والخمسين عن أنشطة تلك المنظمة فيما يتعلق بعمل الفريق الاستشاري المعني بتسوية المنازعات المتصلة بالأنشطة الخاصة في الفضاء الخارجي، والتابع للمحكمة الدائمة للتحكيم.

44. The former Special Rapporteur of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, Mr. A. Eide, updated his study on the right to food in a report submitted to the SubCommission at its fifty-first session (E/CN.4/Sub.2/1999/12).
