In section XII of volume I, the report makes the following recommendation which fall within the framework of the competence of the General Assembly:

The development of an integrated management information system for the United Nations was approved by the General Assembly in section XII of its resolution 43/217 of 21 December 1988.
وافقت الجمعية العامة في الفرع الثاني عشر من قرارها 43/217 المؤرخ 21 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1988 على وضع نظام للمعلومات الإدارية المتكامل للأمم المتحدة.

2. In section XII of its resolution 43/217 of 21 December 1988, the General Assembly approved the development of an integrated system for the processing and reporting of administrative activities at all major duty stations of the Organization.
2 - ووافقت الجمعية العامة في الفرع الثاني عشر من قرارها 43/217 المؤرخ 21 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1988 على وضع نظام متكامل لتجهيز الأنشطة الإدارية في جميع مراكز العمل الرئيسية للمنظمة وتقديم تقارير عنها.

For instance, in the sixth preambular paragraph reference was made to section XII, paragraph 38, of the annex to resolution 51/241 of 31 July 1997 on strengthening of the United Nations system.
