41. As indicated in paragraph 13 above, the Truth and Dignity Commission was established pursuant to the Organizational Act on the establishment and organization of a system of transitional justice. The Commission is an independent body with legal personality and financial autonomy. Its mandate covers the period from 1 July 1955 to the date of issuance of the Act by which it was established.
