It violates international public law and the international accords and conventions that our countries have ratified. The embargo, which is really a total economic blockade against my country, constitutes a dangerous precedent, violating Article 1, paragraph 2, of the Charter of the United Nations regarding the right of peoples to self-determination and the sovereignty and equality of States.

146. The Congo had ratified several international human rights treaties and recognized the primacy of international public law. Although, in principle, gender equality was ensured, some de jure and de facto discrimination still existed.
146 - وأضاف أن الكونغو قد صدّقت على العديد من المعاهدات الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، وهي تسلم بأولوية القانون العام الدولي مع أنه تُكفل، من حيث المبدأ، المساواة بين الجنسين فإنه ما يزال يوجد بعض التمييز بحكم القانون أو الواقع.

III.23 With respect to policymaking organs, the Advisory Committee notes that the International Law Commission is focusing on several topics on international public law, such as the responsibility of international organizations and reservations to treaties, and that the Commission intends to submit to the General Assembly draft articles on two specific topics, liability and diplomatic protection.
ثالثا - 23 وفيما يتعلق بأجهزة تقرير السياسات، تلاحظ اللجنة الاستشارية أن لجنة القانون الدولي تركز على عدة مواضيع في مجال القانون العام الدولي من قبيل مسؤوليات المنظمات الدولية، والتحفظات على المعاهدات، وأن لجنة القانون الدولي تنوي أن تقدم إلى الجمعية العامة مشروع مواد بشأن موضوعين محددين هما المسؤولية والحماية الدبلوماسية.

In that context, it was said that an automatic application of any legal standard on transparency to investment treaties entered into prior to the adoption of such standards might be contrary to public international law, and the basic principle of consent in international arbitration.
وفي هذا السياق، قيل إن من شأن تطبيق أي معيار قانوني بشأن الشفافية تلقائياً على المعاهدات الاستثمارية المبرمة قبل اعتماد تلك المعايير قد يكون مخالفاً لمبادئ القانون العام الدولي ولمبدأ القبول ذي الأهمية الأساسية في التحكيم الدولي.

113. ESA representatives have played a central role in the negotiations on the new Space Station Intergovernmental Agreement, signed on 29 January 1998 by 15 States, which constitutes a significant contribution to the development of public international law applicable to space.
١١٣ - وقد لعب ممثلو الوكالة الفضائية اﻷوروبية دورا رئيسيا في المفاوضات المتعلقة بالاتفاق الحكومي الدولي المتعلق بالمحطة الفضائية الجديدة، الذي تم توقيعه في ٢٩ كانون الثاني/يناير ١٩٩٨ مـــن قِبَل ١٥ دولــة، مما يشكل إسهاما في تطوير القانون العام الدولي المنطبق على الفضاء.

5. Urges States to take measures for the protection and confidentiality of personal genetic data concerning persons living or dead; in order to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms, limitations to the principles of consent and confidentiality may only be prescribed by law, for compelling reasons within the bounds of public international law and international human rights law;
5- تحث الدول على اتخاذ التدابير الكفيلة بحماية سرية البيانات الوراثية الشخصية فيما يخص الأشخاص الأحياء أو الأموات بهدف حماية حقوق الإنسان والحريات الأساسية؛ ولا يجوز تقييد مبادئ القبول والسرية بحكم القانون إلا ضمن حدود القانون العام الدولي والقانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان؛
