It is an honour for me to participate in this special session of the General Assembly to follow up on the World Summit for Children.
وإنه لشرف لي أن أشارك في هذه الدورة الاستثنائية للجمعية العامة لمتابعة مؤتمر القمة العالمي للأطفال.

A decade later, they are here again to adopt a new series of goals, mindful that many of the goals and targets adopted at the World Summit for Children have still to be met.
وبعد مضي عقد من الزمن ها هُم يجتمعون هنا مرة أخرى لإقرار سلسلة من الأهداف، واعين أن كثيرا من الأهداف والمقاصد التي أقرت في مؤتمر القمة العالمي للأطفال لم تتحقق بعد.

Our national vaccination programme is designed to achieve the goals set in the national plan of action for the survival, development and protection of children, which are the same as those set at the World Summit for Children.

Since the adoption of the Convention and the World Summit for Children in 1990, we have made concrete progress in all areas of human rights and in forging a global framework for poverty reduction.

In the Lao People's Democratic Republic, our Government, with support and assistance from friendly countries and international organizations, particularly the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), has made considerable efforts in attaining the goals of the World Summit for Children.
إن حكومتنا، في جمهورية لاو الديمقراطية الشعبية، بمساندة ومساعدة من البلدان الصديقة ومن المنظمات الدولية، ولا سيما اليونيسيف، قد بذلت جهودا هائلة لإدراك أهداف مؤتمر القمة العالمي للأطفال.

We stand ready to cooperate with the international community in protecting and caring for children, and will do our utmost to achieve the objectives of the World Summit for Children as well as those adopted at the present special session.

This special session must be used to unify and to consolidate in a common process the paths that emerged from the World Summit for Children in 1990 and from the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.
إن هذه الدورة الاستثنائية ينبغي استعمالها لتوحيد وتجميع الدروب التي تمخض عنها مؤتمر القمة العالمي للأطفال عام 1990، وهي إقرار اتفاقية حقوق الطفل في عام 1998، في عملية مشتركة.

The objectives and challenges of this special session, including the consideration of the progress made in the implementation of the Declaration and Plan of Action adopted at the World Summit for Children, in 1990, have led us to seriously consider ways and means to meet the challenges through the adoption of a common position that will be the key to improving the living conditions of our children.
إن أهداف وتحديات هذه الدورة الاستثنائية، بما فيها النظر فيما أحرز من تقدم لتنفيذ الإعلان وخطة العمل اللذين أقرا في مؤتمر القمة العالمي للأطفال عام 1990، قد حدت بنا إلى أن ننظر جادين في سبل ووسائل لمواجهة التحديات من خلال اتخاذ موقف مشترك سيكون مفتاح تحسين ظروف معيشة أطفالنا.

In 1990, two significant milestones were reached simultaneously in Chile that moved the issue of protecting children and adolescents higher on the public agenda: the return to democracy and the convening of the World Summit for Children.
