The inventory value of the assets of the combined forces as at 10 January 1996 amounted to some $345.2 million, 40 per cent of which has been transferred to the current peacekeeping operations in the former Yugoslavia.

3. At the 41st meeting, on 12 December, the Controller made a statement regarding the need for additional commitment authority for the liquidation of the combined forces and provision of central support for the period from 1 July 1996 to 30 June 1997.
٣ - وفي الجلسة ٤١ المعقودة في ١٢ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر، أدلى المراقب العام ببيان فيما يتعلق بالحاجة الى سلطة الدخول في التزام إضافي لتصفية القوات مجتمعة وتوفير دعم مركزي للفترة من ١ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٦ الى ٣٠ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٧.

Following the adoption of Council resolution 998 (1995), a further report on the financing of the combined forces was submitted to the General Assembly on 27 June 1995 (A/49/540/Add.4).
٦ - وبعد اتخاذ قرار المجلس ٩٩٨ )١٩٩٥(، قدم الى الجمعية العامة في ٢٧ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٥ تقرير لاحق عن تمويل القوات مجتمعة A/49/450/Add.4)(.

For the period from 1 January to 30 June 1996, time is required to review requirements of the reduced operation and to prepare a full budget in view of recent decisions to significantly reduce the contingent strength of the combined forces.

20. Troop deployment for the combined forces (UNCRO, UNPROFOR, UNPREDEP) peaked at 45,712 in August 1995.
٢٠ - وقد بلغ انتشار القوات مجتمعة )أنكرو، وقوة اﻷمم المتحدة للحماية، وقوة اﻷمم المتحدة للوزع الوقائي( ذروته في آب/أغسطس١٩٩٥ بواقع٧١٢ ٤٥ فردا.

3. At the 33rd meeting, on 29 November, the Controller made a statement regarding the need for commitment authority for the maintenance of the combined forces for the period from 1 to 31 December 1995.
٣ - وفي الجلسة ٣٣، المعقودة في ٩٢ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر، أدلى المراقب المالي ببيان عن الحاجة إلى منح سلطة الدخول في التزامات فيما يتعلق باستمرار القوات مجتمعة خلال الفترة من ١ إلى ١٣ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ٥٩٩١.

The cost of maintaining the combined forces for the period from 1 July to 31 December 1995 was originally estimated at $862,953,300 gross ($851,774,700 net) in document A/49/540/Add.3.

29. The additional action to be taken by the General Assembly at its fiftieth session in connection with the financing of the combined forces is a decision on the treatment of the additional unencumbered balance of $227,406,878 gross ($227,911,279 net) for the period from 1 October 1994 to 31 December 1995.
٢٩- يتعين على الجمعية العامة أن تتخذ في دورتها الخمسين إجراء إضافيا بشأن تمويل القوات مجتمعة وهو اتخاذ قرار بشأن معالجة الرصيد اﻹضافي غير المرتبط به والبالغ إجماليه ٨٧٨ ٤٠٦ ٢٢٧ دولارا )صافيه ٢٧٩ ٩١١ ٢٢٧ دولارا( وذلك للفترة من ١ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٤ الى ٣١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٥.

17. The action to be taken by the General Assembly is a decision to continue to temporarily suspend the provisions of financial regulations 4.3, 4.4 and 5.2 (d) in respect of the remaining surplus of $174,743,027 gross ($175,519,370 net) in the light of the chronic cash shortage of the combined forces.
17 - الإجراء المطلوب من الجمعية العامة اتخاذه هو مقرر الاستمرار المؤقت لوقف العمل بأحكام المواد 4-3 و 4-4 و 5-2 (د) من النظام المالي بشأن الفائض المتبقـي البالغ إجماليه 027 743 174 دولارا (وصافيه 370 519 175 دولارا)، إزاء العجز النقدي المزمن الذي تعانيه القوات مجتمعة.
