On 11 July 2007, the Parliament of Uzbekistan adopted the law on amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the abolition of the death penalty and on 10 December 2008 it ratified the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

38. In 2014, a law was adopted to amend certain legislative acts on domestic violence, envisaging a set of supplementary legal actions in cases of domestic violence and in order to assist the victims.
