The need for greater respect for, adherence to, and application of, international laws and norms relating to the rights of civilians has been a central focus in this year of the fiftieth anniversary of the Geneva Conventions.
وكانت الحاجة إلى المزيد من احترام القوانين والمعايير الدولية المتصلة بحقوق المدنيين والتقيد بها وتطبيقها موضع التركيز الرئيسي خلال هذا العام الذي يواكب الذكرى السنوية الخمسين لتوقيع اتفاقيات جنيف.

Information shall indicate the nature and duration of the mentioned measures, and how they are in conformity with applicable international law and standards and with the objectives of the Convention.

وينبغي إجراء تحقيقات شاملة وشفافة في الادعاءات المتعلقة بسوء معاملة الأطفال في مراكز الاحتجاز، وينبغي مقاضاة مرتكبي الانتهاكات ضد الأطفال بأقصى ما يسمح به القانون، وينبغي تدريب جميع المسؤولين الضالعين في العمليات الأمنية أو الإجراءات القضائية المتعلقة بالأطفال تدريباً شاملاً على تطبيق القوانين والمعايير الدولية السارية.
