The expert seminar was tasked to explore the legal limitations to freedom of expression and the mandatory prohibition of advocacy of religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, as a means to protect individuals and groups.
وكُلفت الحلقة الدراسية للخبراء باستكشاف القيود القانونية المفروضة على حرية التعبير والحظر الإلزامي للدعوة إلى الكراهية الدينية التي تشكل تحريضاً على التمييز أو العداوة أو العنف كوسيلة من وسائل حماية الأفراد والجماعات.

It was also stated that articles 19 and 20 of the Covenant constituted an important legislative framework to prevent advocacy of religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, and that it was essential that States fulfilled their obligations in this regard.
