13. At the 27th meeting, on 18 November, the representative of Antigua and Barbuda, on behalf of the States Members of the United Nations that are members of the Group of 77 and China, introduced a draft resolution entitled " natural disasters and vulnerability " (A/C.2/63/L.30), which read:

At its 30th meeting, on 26 November, the Committee had before it a draft resolution entitled " natural disasters and vulnerability " (A/C.2/63/L.50), submitted by the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Andrei Metelitsa (Belarus), on the basis of informal consultations held on draft resolution A/C.2/63/L.30.

At the same session, the General Assembly expressed its deep concern at the number and scale of natural disasters, requested the Secretary-General to report to the Assembly at its sixty-fifth session on the resolution and decided to consider the issue of natural disasters and vulnerability at that session, under the sub-item entitled " International Strategy for Disaster Reduction " (resolution 63/217).
