6. The Advisory Committee points out that, under the terms of the draft resolution, the Secretary-General has a number of options for the financing of the participation of the governmental representatives of least developed countries in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee and the Conference.

24. Consultants 14. The equivalent of six work-months of consultancy services would be needed to provide expertise in addressing the issues to be considered by the Preparatory Committee and the Conference and in contributing to the preparation of relevant background documents.
١٤ - ستنشأ حاجة إلى ما يعادل ستة أشهر/عمل من خدمات الخبراء الاستشاريين لتقديم الخبرة في معالجة القضايا التي ستنظر فيها اللجنة التحضيرية وفي المؤتمر وفي مجال اﻹسهام في إعداد وثائق المعلومات اﻷساسية ذات الصلة.

The European Union supported the Advisory Committee's recommendation in paragraph 10 of its report that the Secretary-General should further inform the General Assembly at the second part of its resumed fifty-fourth session of the status of voluntary contributions received to defray the cost of participation of government representatives from least developed countries in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee and the Conference itself.

Notes with concern that no extrabudgetary resources have been received to date in response to the note verbale addressed to all States members of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development on 14 February 2000, inviting them to consider providing, through voluntary contributions, resources to defray the costs of participation of government representatives in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee and the Conference itself;

49. The Committee also indicated that it will appoint one or two of its members to represent the Committee at the meeting of the Preparatory Committee and at the Conference itself, and will continue to consider other contributions that could be made to the preparatory process for the Conference.
