Mr. Apata (Nigeria), speaking on behalf of the Group of 77 and China, said that they shared the concern expressed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Group of 77 at their latest annual meeting at the chronic financial difficulties of the United Nations, which were due primarily to the failure of some Member States, in particular the major contributor, to pay their assessed contributions.
