2. The statutory provisions set out in the present annex are an integral part of the Staff Regulations and Rules, with regulations being adopted by the General Assembly pursuant to Article 101, paragraph 1, of the Charter and with rules being promulgated by the Secretary-General pursuant to the authority granted to him by the scope and purpose provision of the Staff Regulations.

6. Any arbitral tribunal constituted under the provisions set out in this annex shall draw up its own rules of procedure.

The modifications indicated in this annex focus the remediation programme on freshwater areas at southern Raudhatain and northern Umm Al-Aish and involve the extraction of a smaller volume of groundwater that is considered as likely to be contaminated.

22. Any change to or extension of activities, where such a change or extension in itself meets the criteria/thresholds set out in this annex, shall be subject to article 6, paragraph 1 (a) of this Convention.
22- يخضع أي تعديـل أو توسيع للأنشطة يفي في حد ذاته بالمعايير أو العتبات المبينة في هذا المرفق لأحكام الفقرة 1(أ) من المادة 6 من هذه الاتفاقية.

The modifications indicated in this annex are intended to build on the natural recovery that has already taken place, and they rely on in situ fragmentation of tarcrete followed by the application of organic amendments to the areas of fragmented tarcrete.
