Some other member States and groups consider that it is essential for States to elaborate provisions on human rights education, with a view to combating prejudices which lead to racial discrimination and to promoting understanding, tolerance and friendship among nations, as well as among racial and ethnic groups.

The Committee notes the absence of information on legislative and other measures taken by the State party to ensure the protection of the rights of racial and ethnic groups.

It urges the State party to delete all racist content from school textbooks, to take measures to punish those who make such references, to provide education that will eliminate racial prejudices and to promote understanding and tolerance among different racial and ethnic groups.

87. Urge States to take measures to eliminate disparities in health status experienced by disadvantaged racial and ethnic groups by the year 2010, including, inter alia, disparities in infant mortality, childhood immunization, diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDS and cancer;

(19) The Committee notes the absence of information on legislative and other measures taken by the State party to ensure the protection of the rights of racial and ethnic groups.

21- يرجى وصف المشاريع التي وُضِعت لإنجاز الأهداف الاستراتيجية في مجال التعليم المبيّنة في الفقرة الأخيرة من تقرير الدولة الطرف (الفقرة 161) وشرح كيفية إسهامها في مكافحة أوجه التحيُّز وتعزيز التفاهم والتسامح والصداقة فيما بين الأمم وكذلك بين المجموعات العرقية والإثنية في الدولة الطرف.

It urged Saint Lucia to delete all racist content from school textbooks, to take measures to punish those who make such references, to provide education that will eliminate racial prejudices and to promote understanding and tolerance among different racial and ethnic groups.

42. The World Conference should recognize that certain racial and ethnic groups, indigenous peoples, migrants and the poor in society become victims of trafficking because of their vulnerability and that all States need to take effective measures to improve the civil, political, economic, social and cultural status of such persons, with specific programmes of affirmative action.

Urge Governments to disseminate information, through appropriate means, to promote a spirit of respect for diversity and inclusiveness between the various racial and ethnic groups that make up society by rebutting stereotypes, myths and erroneous theories and ideologies that foster racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance;
158- نحث الحكومات على نشر المعلومات بالسبل الملائمة، لتشجيع قيام روح من الاحترام للتنوع وتقبل الجميع لدى مختلف المجموعات العرقية والإثنية التي تكوّن المجتمع، وذلك عن طريق دحض المواقف والآراء المقولبة والخرافات والنظريات والعقائد الخاطئة التي تشجع العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب؛
