Through this programme, it is proposed to work in synergy with the UNODC technical assistance initiatives, such as the Container Control Programme and the Laboratory and Scientific Section, to deliver investigative training to law enforcement agencies and, where necessary, provide equipment to assist investigations in follow-up to seizures of contraband.

14. The Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime should seek to provide the necessary financial resources to maintain the training offered by the Office in the detection and identification of narcotics and should increase the training courses held at the Laboratory and Scientific Section of the Office in Vienna.
14- وينبغي أن يسعى المدير التنفيذي لمكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدّرات والجريمة إلى توفير الموارد المالية اللازمة للمحافظة على التدريب الذي يقدّمه المكتب في مجال كشف المخدّرات والتعرّف عليها، وإلى زيادة عدد الدورات التدريبية التي تعقد في قسم المختبر والشؤون العلمية التابع للمكتب في فيينا.

The remaining proposed increase of $1.3 million is explained as follows: the initial budget for the biennium 2004-2005 took into account the content of the submission of the Secretary-General of the regular programme budget, which included an additional P-3 position for the Laboratory and Scientific Section.
أمّا الزيادة المقترحة المتبقية وقدرها 1.3 مليون دولار فتعود إلى كون الميزانية الأولية للفترة 2004-2005 أخذت في الحسبان مضمون مقترح الأمين العام بشأن ميزانية البرامج العادية، الذي تضمّن تخصيص اعتمادات لوظيفة إضافية برتبة ف-3 لقسم المختبر والشؤون العلمية.

(d) The Executive Director of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) should seek to provide the necessary financial resources to maintain the training offered by the Office in the detection and identification of narcotics and should increase the training courses held at the Laboratory and Scientific Section of the Office in Vienna.
(د) ينبغي للمدير التنفيذي لمكتب الأمم المتحدة المعني بالمخدرات والجريمة أن يسعى إلى توفير الموارد المالية اللازمة للمحافظة على التدريب الذي يقدّمه المكتب في مجال كشف المخدرات والتعرّف عليها، وإلى زيادة عدد الدورات التدريبية التي تعقد في قسم المختبر والشؤون العلمية التابع للمكتب في فيينا.

The UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Section will work with interested stakeholders, such as the United States Pharmacopeia Drug Quality and Information Program and the private sector, utilizing complementary strengths and mandates, to identify and address gaps in the enforcement of laws related to counterfeit medicines.
وسوف يعمل قسم المختبر والشؤون العلمية التابع للمكتب مع الجهات ذات الصلة المهتمة، مثل برنامج الولايات المتحدة لدستور الأدوية ونوعيتها والمعلومات الخاصة بها والقطاع الخاص، باستخدام جوانب القوة التكميلية والولايات القائمة، من أجل استبانة وسد الثغرات الموجودة في إنفاذ القوانين ذات الصلة بالأدوية المزيفة.

Through its Laboratory and Scientific Section, UNODC has conducted joint forensic training courses under the INTERPOL Providing of Operational Assistance, Services and Infrastructure Support to African Police Forces (OASIS Africa) programme, which aims to enhance the operational capacity of African police forces to effectively combat and tackle national and international crimes.
37- وعقد المكتب، من خلال قسم المختبر والشؤون العلمية التابع له، دورات تدريبية مشتركة مع الإنتربول في مجال التحليل الجنائي، وذلك في إطار برنامج الإنتربول المسمَّى " توفير المساعدة التشغيلية والخدمات ودعم البنى التحتية لقوات الشرطة الأفريقية " الذي يهدف إلى تعزيز القدرة التشغيلية لقوات الشرطة الأفريقية على مكافحة الجرائم الوطنية والدولية والتصدي لها على نحو فعال.
