Article 11 of the Convention calls upon States Parties to take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women in the field of employment.

It encourages the State party to ensure that women workers are protected from hazardous working environments and that adequate sanctions are in place for discrimination against women in the employment field in both the public and private sectors, including sexual harassment.

The present report has thus been able to provide a better response to the request of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, especially by quantifying the situation of women in the area of employment.

The Ministry is keen to monitor the status of women in the workplace and, to this end, has appointed women inspectors, trained in the social and psychological aspects of women's lives, to make field visits to find out the extent to which the status of working women is consistent with national legislation, such as the Labour Act, and the relevant international conventions which Iraq has ratified.
154- واهتمت هذه الوزارة بمتابعة أوضاع المرأة في ميدان العمل ولهذا الغرض تم تعيين مفتشات متدربات على أوضاع المرأة الاجتماعية والسيكولوجية للقيام بزيارات ميدانية لمعرفة مدى ملاءمة وضع المرأة العاملة مع التشريعات الوطنية كقانون العمل النافذ والاتفاقيات الدولية المهتمة بهذه الجوانب التي صادق عليها العراق.
