56. In 2002, the Government has proposed amendments to the Crimes Ordinance which seek to extend the application of certain sexual offence provisions to acts committed against children outside Hong Kong.

With regard to response activities for children separated from non-State armed groups, the Government is urged to redouble its efforts to strengthen family reunification, protection and care services for children, robust reintegration support and accountability for crimes committed against children.
74 - وفيما يتعلق بأنشطة إغاثة الأطفال الذين انفصلوا عن الجماعات المسلحة غير التابعة للدولة، ينبغي حث الحكومة على مضاعفة جهودها الرامية إلى تعزيز لم شمل الأسر، وتقديم خدمات الحماية والرعاية للأطفال، وتوفير دعم قوي لإدماجهم، والمساءلة عن الجرائم المرتكبة بحق الأطفال.

6. They stressed the need for accountability for violations and abuses committed against children during the armed conflict and encouraged the Government to further enhance its efforts to combat impunity through the full investigation of such cases and prosecution of perpetrators.

Further discussions will be held with the United Nations Task Forces on Monitoring and Reporting in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Sudan and the Central African Republic, as appropriate, on how best to monitor and report on the grave violations committed against children by LRA, taking into account the regional cross-border dimension of this problem.
