The Conference adopted conclusions and recommendations on strengthening communication and cooperation among ministers Responsible for Youth in the Portuguese-speaking countries and on the first session of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth.
واعتمد المؤتمر نتائج وتوصيات لتعزيز الاتصالات والتعاون بين الوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب في البلدان المتكلمة بالبرتغالية، وكذلك بشأن الدورة اﻷولى للمؤتمر العالمي للوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب.

This momentum led, as described above, to the convening of meetings of ministers Responsible for Youth in all five of the United Nations regions and to the convening of the first session of the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in 1998.

At this tenth anniversary of the World Programme of Action, I would like to quote from the address of the Secretary-General to the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in 1998:

The first meeting of the International Steering Committee for the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth will be con-vened at Headquarters, in cooperation with the United Nations, under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Antonio Jose Martins Seguro, Secretary of State for Youth of the Republic of Portugal, from 14 to 16 October 1997.
يعقد الاجتماع اﻷول للجنة التوجيهية الدولية للمؤتمر العالمي للوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب في المقر، بالتعاون مع اﻷمم المتحدة، برئاسة معالي السيد أنطونيو خوزيه مارتنز سيغورو، وزير الدولة للشباب بجمهورية البرتغال، في الفترة من ١٤ إلى ١٦ تشرين اﻷول/ أكتوبر ١٩٩٧.

Her delegation therefore commended the Government of Portugal for having hosted the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in August 1998, and supported the measures proposed in the Lisbon Declaration on Youth Policies and Programmes. It also welcomed the recommendations of the Third World Youth Forum of the United Nations System, which were designed to promote youth participation for human development.

6. Encourages the regional commissions to follow up the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in their respective regions, in coordination with regional meetings of ministers responsible for youth and regional youth non-governmental organizations, and to provide advisory services to support national youth policies and programmes in each region;
٦ - تشجع اللجان اﻹقليمية على متابعة المؤتمر العالمي للوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب في مناطق كل منها، بالتنسيق مع الاجتماعات اﻹقليمية للوزراء المسؤولين عن الشباب والمنظمات الشبابية اﻹقليمية غير الحكومية، وعلى تقديم خدمات المشورة لدعم السياسات والبرامج الشبابية الوطنية في كل منطقة؛
