I have the honour to draw your attention to my letter dated 27 February 1998, a copy of which has been annexed hereto, concerning the summary statement on matters of which the Council is seized and on the stage reached in their consideration.
أتشرف باﻹشارة إلى رسالتي المؤرخة ٢٧ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٨، التي ترد طي هذه الرسالة نسخة منها، وتتصل بالبيان الموجز عن المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن وعن الطور الذي بلغه النظر في تلك المسائل.

“2. The Security Council has decided that, as from 15 September 1996, matters which have not been considered by the Council in the preceding five years will be automatically deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized.

“2. With reference to paragraphs 2 and 3 of the note by the President of the Security Council, of 30 July 1996, the Council has decided that no item will be deleted from the list of matters of which the Council is seized without the prior consent of the Member States concerned in accordance with the following procedure:
" ٢ - وفيما يتعلق بالفقرتين ٢ و ٣ من مذكرة رئيس مجلس اﻷمن، قرر المجلس ألا يحذف أي بند من قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن دون الموافقة المسبقة للدول اﻷعضاء المعنية وفقا لﻹجراء التالي:

During its Presidency of the Council in March 2000, a thematic debate was chaired by the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh on the humanitarian aspects of issues before the Security Council.
وأثناء رئاسة بنغلاديش للمجلس في آذار/مارس 2000، ترأس وزير خارجية بنغلاديش مناقشة الجوانب الإنسانية في المسائل المعروضة على مجلس الأمن.

Consideration of the Council's report by the General Assembly constitutes an important occasion for a substantive dialogue and interaction between these two principal organs of the United Nations, a dialogue which will, I hope, touch not just on the nature of the report presented to the Assembly today, but also on the substance of the issues before the Security Council.
وإن نظر الجمعية العامة في تقرير المجلس يشكل فرصة هامة ﻹجراء حوار موضوعي وتفاعل بين هذين الجهازين الرئيسيين لﻷمم المتحدة، وآمل أن يتناول الحوار ليس فقط طابع التقرير المقدم الى الجمعية العامة اليوم، ولكن أيضا جوهر المسائل المعروضة على مجلس اﻷمن.

Pursuant to rule 11 of the provisional rules of procedure of the Security Council, the Secretary-General wishes to submit the list of items of which the Security Council is currently seized.
عملا بالمادة 11 من النظام الداخلي المؤقت لمجلس الأمن، يود الأمين العام تقديم قائمة المسائل المعروضة على مجلس الأمن حاليا.

5. In the light of the foregoing, as at 15 June 2000, the list of matters of which the Security Council was seized was as follows:
