117. The Commission was informed that the report on the monitoring of multilateral population assistance (E/CN.9/1994/6) had been prepared in response to a recommendation of the International Conference on Population held at Mexico City in 1984, in which the Secretary-General was requested to undertake the monitoring of multilateral population programmes of the United Nations system.
١١٧ - أحيطت اللجنة علما بأن التقرير عن رصد المساعدة السكانية المتعددة اﻷطراف (E/CN.9/1994/6) أعد استجابة لتوصية من المؤتمر الدولي المعني بالسكان المعقود في مكسيكو في عام ١٩٨٤، وطلب فيه الى اﻷمين العام أن يقوم برصد برامج اﻷمم المتحدة السكانية المتعددة اﻷطراف.

18. A number of United Nations organizations and agencies that engage in population-related or reproductive health activities, including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNFPA, provide multilateral population assistance.
٨١ - يشترك في تقديم المساعدة السكانية المتعددة اﻷطراف عدد من مؤسسات اﻷمم المتحدة ووكالاتها المشتركة القائمة باﻷنشطة الصحية واﻹنجابية المتصلة بالسكان، بما فيها منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة للطفولة )اليونيسف( ومنظمة الصحة العالمية، وصندوق اﻷمم المتحدة للسكان.

The Council reaffirmed, among other things, the role of the Commission " as the principal intergovernmental body to arrange for studies and advise the Council " on population matters and requested the preparation of reports on the monitoring of multilateral population assistance and an overview of population activities within the United Nations system (resolution 1985/4, paras. 1 and 7).

68. In paragraph 4 (a) of its resolution 50/124, the General Assembly took note of the proposal of UNFPA to replace its biennial report to the Commission on Population and Development on multilateral population assistance with an annual report on the amount of resources allocated for the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action at the national and international levels.
٦٨ - في الفقرة ٤ )أ( من القرار ٥٠/١٢٤، أحاطت الجمعية العامة علما باقتراح صندوق اﻷمم المتحدة للسكان الاستعاضة عن تقريره إلى لجنة السكان والتنمية الذي يقدم مرة كل سنتين عن المساعدة السكانية المتعددة اﻷطراف بتقرير سنوي عن مقدار الموارد المالية المخصصة لتنفيذ برنامج عمل المؤتمر الدولي على الصعيدين القطري والدولي.
