VII. Information on the assessment of the role and activities of child protection advisers

The child protection advisers and the human rights staff of UNAMSIL, together with UNICEF and its implementing partners, are monitoring the reintegration needs of girls associated with the fighting forces in Sierra Leone.

(b) Guidance will be provided on the role of child protection advisers and gender advisers in addressing sexual exploitation and abuse in the mission directive on sexual exploitation and abuse to be produced in the first quarter of 2006 (see point 36 above).

123. In the light of the recent developments in the implementation of Security Council resolutions 1888 (2009) and 1960 (2010), the United Nations should deploy an adequate number of women's protection advisers to the UNPOS Human Rights Unit, thus strengthening its capacity to monitor, document, report and respond to sexual violence-related violations and protection concerns.
123- وفي ضوء التطورات الأخيرة في تنفيذ قراري مجلس الأمن 1888(2009) و1960(2010)، ينبغي أن تنشر الأمم المتحدة عدداً كافياً من المستشارين المعنيين بحماية المرأة في وحدة حقوق الإنسان التابعة لمكتب الأمم المتحدة السياسي للصومال، فتعزز بذلك قدراته على رصد الانتهاكات المتصلة بالعنف والشواغل المتعلقة بالحماية وتوثيقها والإبلاغ عنها والتصدي لها.
