As a police authority in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, authorized officials of the military police primarily undertake ex officio actions against an employee of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for whom there is a grounded suspicion that he has committed a criminal offence to the detriment of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as to the detriment of civilians (art. 53).

On 15 April 2008, a Serbian Ministry of the Interior patrol and an unknown number of Kosovo-Albanians were involved in a shooting incident in the vicinity of Gate 2 (Multinational Task Force Centre), most likely linked to illegal criminal activities on the Serbian side of the border. Serbian forces requested a joint KFOR/Serbian Armed Forces reconnaissance of the area on 16 April 2008.
9 - وفي 15 نيسان/أبريل 2008 اشتبكت دورية تابعة لوزارة الداخلية الصربية مع عدد غير معروف من ألبان كوسوفو في حادث إطلاق نار بالقرب من البوابة رقم 2 (قوة العمل المتعددة الجنسيات، القطاع الأوسط) يتصل، على الأرجح بأنشطة إجرامية على الجانب الصربي من الحدود وقد طلبت القوات الصربية إجراء عملية استطلاع مشتركة للمنطقة من قبل قوة كوسوفو والقوات المسلحة الصربية في 16 نيسان/أبريل 2008.
