1. In its recommendations to the General Assembly adopted on 11 May 2001, the Committee on Information requested the Secretary-General to submit to it by August 2001 a final report on the results of the pilot project on the development of an international broadcasting capacity for the United Nations.
1 - طلبت لجنة الإعلام إلى الأمين العام، في توصياتها إلى الجمعية العامة التي اعتمدتها يوم 11 أيار/مايو 2001، أن يقدم إليها بحلول آب/أغسطس 2001 تقريرا نهائيا عن نتائج المشروع النموذجي المتعلق بتطوير قدرة الأمم المتحدة للبث الإذاعي الدولي.

61. A representative of the Department presented the report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the pilot project on the development of an international radio broadcasting capacity for the United Nations (A/AC.198/2003/4).

56. Notes with satisfaction the success of the pilot project on the development of an international radio broadcasting capacity for the United Nations, and endorses the Secretary-General's proposal that the pilot project be made an integral part of the Department's activities;

Strides will continue to be made in radio broadcasting, clear evidence of which is the success of the pilot project for direct international radio broadcasting, as outlined in the Secretary-General's progress report on the implementation of the pilot project on the development of an international radio broadcasting capacity for the United Nations (A/AC.198/2001/7).

62. As regards the progress report of the Secretary-General on the implementation of the pilot project on the development of an international radio broadcasting capacity for the United Nations (A/AC.198/2001/7), the Department thanked all the Member States that cooperated with the Organization to make the ground-breaking new project possible, in all six official languages, and with a small Kiswahili and Portuguese component.
