15. With regard to the science - policy interface, the Rio+20 Conference took note of decision 20/COP.10 to establish an ad hoc working group, taking into account regional balance, to discuss specific options for the provision of scientific advice to Parties to the UNCCD.
15- وفيما يخص التفاعل بين السياسة والعلم، أحاط مؤتمر ريو+20 علماً بالمقرر 20/م أ-10 الداعي إلى إنشاء فريق عامل مخصص يُراعَى فيه التوازن الإقليمي لمناقشة خيارات محددة لتقديم المشورة العلمية إلى الأطراف في الاتفاقية.

The participants had taken note of the decision, taken at the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, to establish an ad hoc working group, taking into account regional balance, to discuss specific options for the provision of scientific advice to the Parties.

83. Legitimacy of the report at the global level would require that the scientific organizations or the scientific advisory mechanisms involved are representative of the scientific community worldwide; preferably already have some track record of providing scientific advice to policymaking bodies; and that the functioning of the organization and/or the process is fully transparent.
٨3 - وستقتضي شرعية التقرير على الصعيد العالمي أن تكون المنظمات العلمية أو الآليات الاستشارية العلمية المشاركة على النحو التالي: أن تمثل الأوساط العلمية على الصعيد العالمي؛ ويفضل أن يكون لديها بالفعل سجل في مجال تقديم المشورة العلمية إلى هيئات صنع السياسات؛ وأن يتسم أداء المنظمة و/أو العملية بالشفافية الكاملة.

47. Some Parties underlined the need for strengthening the CST in order to enable it to emerge as a global authority for scientific advice on DLDD issues and establishment of a network of science and technology institutions in this direction, while some Parties suggested to work on other different possible options for strengthening the provision of scientific advice to the Convention as discussed during the CST sessions.
