In addition, the Authority will continue to acquire scientific knowledge and monitor the development of marine technology relevant to activities in the Area, in particular technology relating to the protection and preservation of the marine environment, and collect data and information relevant to the implementation of article 82 of the Convention.

)ز( اكتساب المعارف العلمية ورصد تطور التكنولوجيا البحرية المتصلة باﻷنشطة المضطلع بها في المنطقة، وبخاصة التكنولوجيا المتصلة بحماية وحفظ البيئة البحرية، وتقييم البيانات المتاحة المتصلة بالتنقيب والاستكشاف.

The Authority plans therefore to increase its efforts to acquire scientific knowledge and monitor the development of marine technology relevant to activities in the Area, in particular technology relating to the protection and preservation of the marine environment, as well as to collect data and information on mineral resources other than polymetallic nodules in the Area which are subjects of research and investigation.
وتزمع السلطة بالتالي أن تزيد جهودها الرامية إلى اكتساب المعارف العلمية ورصد تطورات التكنولوجيات البحرية في مجال الأنشطة المضطلع بها في المنطقة، وخاصة التكنولوجيا المتصلة بحماية وحفظ البيئة البحرية، إلى جانب جمع البيانات والمعلومات المتعلقة بالموارد المعدنية بخلاف العقيدات المتعددة المعادن في المنطقة والتي تشكل موضوعا للبحث والدراسة.
