In that context, the regional institutes comprising the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme network should be further strengthened in their victim-related activities at the regional and subregional level.

وعليه تدعو اللجنة اﻷمين العام، في سياق الميزانية البرنامجية التي يقترحها لفترة السنتين ١٩٩٦-١٩٩٧، إلى أن يقترح معايير تحدد ما إذا كان ينبغي تمويل المعاهد الاقليمية من الميزانية العادية لﻷمم المتحدة.

It should be noted that the resources for the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning and the African Regional Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders had been maintained at the same level as for the preceding biennium, pending submission by the Secretary-General of a report on funding for regional institutes.
ولاحظ أن الموارد المخصصة للمعهد الافريقي للتنمية الاقتصادية والتخطيط والمعهد الافريقي الاقليمي لمنع الجريمة ومعاملة المجرمين بقيت على نفس مستواها خلال فترة السنتين السابقة، بانتظار تقرير من اﻷمين العام بشأن تمويل المعاهد الاقليمية.

The following affiliated regional institutes and associate institutes attended: Latin American Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders, International Centre for Criminal Law Reform and Criminal Justice Policy and International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences.
كما حضرت الاجتماع المعاهد الاقليمية المنتسبة والمعاهد المشاركة التالية : معهد أمريكا اللاتينية لمنع الجريمة ومعاملة المجرمين والمركز الدولي لاصلاح القانون الجنائي ولسياسات العدالة الجنائية والمعهد الدولي للدراسات العليا في العلوم الجنائية .

Several participants, referring to the implementation of General Assembly resolution 48/101, stressed the fact that the African Institute, which served 54 African countries, should be given all possible support to enable it to carry out its activities and to undertake operations comparable to those of the other regional institutes.
وأشار عدة مشتركين الى تنفيذ قرار الجمعية العامة ٨٤/١٠١ فأكدوا على أن المعهد الافريقي الذي يتولى خدمة ٤٥ بلدا افريقيا، ينبغي أن يحظى بكل دعم ممكن ليتسنى له القيام بأنشطته، وللاضطلاع بعمليات تضاهي عمليات المعاهد الاقليمية اﻷخري.
