1. We agree, as the majority in the Committee does in the first two sentences in paragraph 7.4 of the Views, that the absence of protection from discrimination on the ground of political opinion in the Ontario Human Rights Code raises an issue under article 26 of the Covenant.

No-one can be restricted in their labour rights and freedoms or receive any advantages, irrespective of sex, race, skin colour, nationality, language, origins, property, family, social or official status, age, place of residence, religious beliefs, political convictions, affiliation or non-affiliation to public associations, as well as other circumstances not related to the worker's professional qualities.
