V. THE SITUATION OF TRADE IN AND PRODUCTION OF equipment specifically designed to inflict TORTURE OR OTHER CRUEL, INHUMAN OR DEGRADING TREATMENT, ITS ORIGIN, DESTINATION AND FORMS

The Special Rapporteur expresses the wish that he will be able to carry out further work on this issue with a view to finding the best ways to prohibit trade in and production of equipment specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.
68- ويعرب المقرر الخاص عن أمله في أن يتمكن في المستقبل من اتخاذ مزيد من الإجراءات بشأن هذه المسألة بغية إيجاد أفضل السبل لمنع تجارة وإنتاج المعدات المصممة خصيصاً لممارسة التعذيب أو غيره من ضروب المعاملة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة.

15. In resolution 2004/41, the Commission on Human Rights requested the Special Rapporteur to carry out further work with a view to finding the best ways to prohibit the trade and production of equipment specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, and to combat its proliferation.
15- ولقد طالبت لجنة حقوق الإنسان في قرارها 2004/41 إلى المقرر الخاص أن يواصل العمل بغية إيجاد أفضل السبل لحظر تجارة وإنتاج المعدات المصممة خصيصاً لممارسة التعذيب أو غيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، ومكافحة انتشارها.

131. Also in its resolution 2004/41, the Commission, recalling the Special Rapporteur's study on the situation of trade in and production of equipment that is specifically designed to inflict torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment (E/CN.4/2003/69), requested the Special Rapporteur to report on the best ways to prohibit such trade and production and to combat its proliferation.
131- وإذ أشارت اللجنة أيضاً في قرارها 2004/41، إلى الدراسة التي أعدها المقرر الخاص (E/CN.4/2003/69) عن حالة تجارة وإنتاج هذه المعدات المصممة خصيصاً لممارسة التعذيب وغيره من ضروب المعاملة أو العقوبة القاسية أو اللاإنسانية أو المهينة، فقد طلبت إلى المقرر الخاص أن يقدم تقريراً عن أفضل السبل لحظر هذه التجارة وهذا الإنتاج ومكافحة انتشار هذه المعدات.
