7.1 On 3 February 2011, the author recalls the State party's argument that bringing her to administrative responsibility had a legitimate aim of protecting children from " propaganda of homosexuality " , i.e. from information harmful to children from a moral point of view.

40. ARTICLE 19 reported that the recent amendments to the Law on the Protection of Children from information detrimental to their Health and Development introduced the possibility for `illegal'websites to be blocked without due process and on an arbitrary basis within 72 hours.
40- وأشارت منظمة المادة 19 إلى أن التعديلات التي أدخلت مؤخراً على قانون حماية الطفل من المعلومات الضارة بصحته ونموه أدت إلى إمكانية حجب المواقع الشبكية " غير القانونية " في غضون 72 ساعة دون اتباع الإجراءات القانونية الواجبة بصورة تعسفية(90).

34- ستدعم الحكومة الجهود التي يبذلها " مقدمو خدمات الإنترنت " وغير ذلك من وحدات الأنشطة كي لا تُنشر على الإنترنت المعلومات الضارة المخالفة للقانون ذات الصلة باستخدام الأطفال في إنتاج المواد الخليعة.

In line with article 17 of the Convention, States parties are urged to protect adolescents from information that is harmful to their health and development, while underscoring their right to information and material from diverse national and international sources.
25- ويُساور اللجنة القلق إزاء تأثير تسويق المنتجات وأساليب الحياة غير الصحية على السلوكيات الصحية للمراهقين وتمشياً مع المادة 17 من الاتفاقية، تحثُّ اللجنة الدول الأطراف على حماية المراهقين من المعلومات الضارة لصحتهم ونموِّهم، مع التشديد على حقِّ المراهقين في الوصول إلى المعلومات والمواد من شتَّى المصادر الوطنية والدولية.

In particular, the new legislation on the protection of children from information detrimental to their physical and spiritual development will provide effective legal mechanisms that protect children from the impact of destructive and psychologically traumatizing information and prevent the mass media from promoting cruelty or violence.
وسيكفل التشريع الجديد المتعلق بحماية الأطفال من المعلومات الضارة بنموهم البدني والروحي على وجه الخصوص آليات قانونية فعالة تحمي الأطفال من تأثير المعلومات المدمرة والصادمة من الناحية النفسية - الاجتماعية وتمنع وسائل الإعلام من الترويج للقسوة أو العنف.

The Committee is concerned that the measures being taken to protect children from information injurious to their well-being are insufficient, in the light of the provisions of article 17 of the Convention.
