The Group of 77 and China hope that the improvement of the work of the CST, through the establishment of a high-level experts and scientists group on Desertification and drought, will have a positive impact in the implementation of the Convention by affected developing country Parties.
وتأمل مجموعة ال77 والصين أن يكون لتحسين عمل لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، من خلال إنشاء فريق الخبراء والعلماء الرفيع المستوى المعني بالتصحر والجفاف، أثر إيجابي في تنفيذ الاتفاقية من قبل الأطراف من البلدان النامية المتأثرة.

وبعد اعتماد الاتفاقية في باريس، قامت اسبانيا بتنظيم المؤتمر اﻹقليمي اﻷول المعني بالتصحر في منطقة شمال البحر المتوسط في حزيران/يونيه ٥٩٩١، وقد أرسى هذا المؤتمر اﻷسس لاعداد برنامج عمل لهذه المنطقة.

Support was provided to the work of International Panel of Experts on Desertification (IPED) in producing the book on " Biodiversity in the Drylands of the World " in 1994.
