With reference to the WHO's Intergovernmental Working Group on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property, the Government participated in regional discussions on the development of the Working Group's global strategy.

The Committee noted with satisfaction that, during its fiftieth session, the Action Teams on the Environmental Monitoring Strategy, on Public Health, and on Sustainable Development had met, and that the Action Team on Public Health had advanced its work, including through the establishment of a Web portal to facilitate the exchange of information.

73. As recommended by the Committee, the Subcommittee's agenda for the next session would include an item on space-system based telemedicine applications, to be considered under the three-year work plan adopted by the Committee in 2003, which also related to the work of the action team on Public Health.
73 - وعلى نحو ما أوصت به اللجنة، فإن جدول أعمال اللجنة الفرعية من أجل دورتها المقبلة سوف يشمل بنداً بشأن نظامٍ فضائي يقوم على أساس تطبيقات الطب عن بُعد يتم النظر إليه في إطار خطة العمل الثلاثية السنوات التي اعتمدتها اللجنة في عام 2003 وتتصل بأعمال فريق العمل المعني بالصحة العامة.

The Intergovernmental Working Group on Public Health, Innovation and Intellectual Property was welcomed as a step forward in creating consensus among countries on how to correct the imbalance in health services between rich and poor countries, taking into account research and development activities, the ability of the developing world to innovate, intellectual property rights and sustainable funding.
ورَحبت الحكومة بالفريق العامل الحكومي الدولي المعني بالصحة العامة والابتكار والملكية الفكرية بوصفه خطوة إلى الأمام نحو تحقيق توافق آراء بين البلدان بشأن كيفية تصحيح الاختلال في الخدمات الصحية بين البلدان الغنية والفقيرة، على أن تؤخذ في الحسبان أنشطة البحث والتطوير، وقدرة العالم النامي على الابتكار، وحقوق الملكية الفكرية, والتمويل المستدام.

The Subcommittee noted that the Action Team on Public Health had held a meeting during the session, and noted, in this context, that continued discussions were needed on the use of space technology in the area of tele-epidemiology and tele-health to bring concrete benefits for meeting health needs.
59- ولاحظت اللجنة الفرعية أنَّ فريق العمل المعني بالصحة العامة قد عقد اجتماعا خلال الدورة ولاحظت في هذا السياق أنَّ من الضروري أن تستمر المناقشات حول استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في مجال دراسة الأوبئة وتوفير الرعاية الصحية عن بُعد لتحقيق فوائد ملموسة من أجل تلبية الاحتياجات الصحية.

The Subcommittee also noted the progress made in the work of the action team on Public Health (action team 6) and that action team 11 had decided to meet again during the fifty-second session of the Committee (see A/59/174, paras. 29-31 and annex V).
ولاحظت اللجنة الفرعية أيضا التقدم المحرز في أعمال فريق العمل المعني بالصحة العامة (فريق العمل 6) وأن فريق العمل 11 قرّر أن يجتمع مرة أخرى أثناء الدورة الثانية والخمسين للجنة (انظر الفقرات 29-31 من الوثيقة A/59/174 والمرفق الخامس لتلك الوثيقة).
