At its 27th meeting, on 22 May 2009, the Committee considered Council resolution 2006/46 and decision 2008/217, in which the Council had invited the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations to consider the applications of nongovernmental organizations and civil society entities not in consultative status with the Council, but which had received accreditation to the World Summit on the Information Society.

The accreditation of those non-governmental organizations and civil society entities to the Commission would be valid for a period of two years from the time of the adoption by the Council of a decision allowing those entities to participate in the work of the Commission, specifically in follow-up to the Summit, for that period.
ويظل اعتماد تلك المنظمات غير الحكومية وكيانات المجتمع المدني لدى اللجنة ساريا لدى اللجنة لفترة سنتين اعتبارا من تاريخ اتخاذ المجلس قرارا يخوِّل تلك الكيانات المشاركة في عمل اللجنة، وتحديدا في متابعة المؤتمر خلال تلك الفترة.
