A step forward in developing a fuller understanding of the work of forest-related international and regional organizations and instruments has been achieved by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in cooperation with other Task Force members, through responding positively to the Forum’s request at the second session to develop a comprehensive directory of these institutions.
وكان من الخطوات لﻷمام في سبيل إيجاد تفاهم أكمل لعمل المنظمات والصكوك الدولية واﻹقليمية المتعلقة بالغابات ما أنجزته منظمة اﻷمم المتحدة لﻷغذية والزراعة متعاونة مع أعضاء فرقة العمل، عن طريق الرد اﻹيجابي على طلب المنتدى في دورته الثانية بأن يوضع دليل شامل لهذه المؤسسات.

10. The Forum called upon all interested parties, including the governing bodies of relevant international and regional organizations and instruments, to:
١٠ - أهاب المنتدى بجميع اﻷطراف المهتمة باﻷمر، بما في ذلك هيئات إدارة المنظمات والصكوك الدولية واﻹقليمية أن تضطلع بما يلي:

(c) Clarify the respective roles and work to be carried out by international and regional organizations and instruments with respect to the forest-related programmes of action of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development and its follow-up.
)ج( توضيح اﻷدوار واﻷعمال المختصة التي يتعين أن تضطلع بها المنظمات والصكوك الدولية واﻹقليمية فيما يتصل ببرامج العمل ذات الصلة التي يضطلع بها مؤتمر اﻷمم المتحدة بشأن البيئة والتنمية ومتابعته.

(a) Utilize, as appropriate, the expertise provided by international and regional organizations and instruments in the formulation of their national forest programmes, in particular to better integrate cross-sectoral linkages and the social, economic and environmental aspects of sustainable forest management into national policies;
)أ( أن تنتفع، حسب الاقتضاء، بالخبرة الفنية التي توفرها المنظمات والصكوك الدولية واﻹقليمية في صوغ برامجها الوطنية بشأن الغابات، وخصوصا، لتحسين إدماج الروابط القطاعية العامة والجوانب الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والبيئية ﻹدارة الغابات إدارة مستدامة في السياسات الوطنية؛

(b) Foster synergies among different international and regional organizations and instruments, and encourage their active participation in and contribution to international forest policy dialogue, with due consideration to the Forest Principles, chapter 11 of Agenda 21 and the IPF/Forum proposals for action;
)ب( تدعيم أوجه التآزر فيما بين المنظمات والصكوك الدولية واﻹقليمية المختلفة، وتشجيع اشتراكها الفعﱠال وإسهامها في الحوار الدولي حول السياسات المتعلقة بالغابات، مع إيلاء الاعتبار الواجب للمبادئ المتعلقة بالغابات، وللفصل ١١ من جدول أعمال القرن ٢١ ومقترحات العمل التي اعتمدها الفريق الحكومي الدولي المعني بالغابات/المنتدى؛
