However, it was the European Union's understanding that while implementing the resolution, the Secretary-General would be mindful of the annex to Economic and Social Council resolution 1980/67, in particular paragraph 2l thereof, which stated that expenditures should normally be met from existing resources in the regular budget.
واستدركت قائلة إن الاتحاد الأوروبي يفهم أن الأمين العام سيضع في اعتباره، أثناء تنفيذ القرار، ملحق قرار المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي 1980/67، ولا سيما الفقرة 21 منه، التي تنص على أنه ينبغي، في الأحوال الطبيعية، سداد النفقات من الموارد الموجودة في الميزانية العادية.
