63. The cluster supports the implementation of the African Union/NEPAD Science and Technology Consolidated plan of action, which was formally adopted by the African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa in January 2007.
63 - تدعم هذه المجموعة تنفيذ خطة العمل الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا للاتحاد الأفريقي/ الشراكة الجديدة التي اعتمدها مؤتمر قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي بصورة رسمية في أديس أبابا في كانون الثاني/يناير 2007.

3. ACKNOWLEDGES that Member States and the RECs, as the chief stakeholders, should take the lead in the domestication of Africa's Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA) and foster its implementation throughout its Lighthouse Projects;

37. Over the review period, NPCA made further progress in the implementation of the Africa's Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action.

Overall, the Conference recommended that ECA, in collaboration with AUC and UNESCO, and under the framework of AU/NEPAD S & T Consolidated Plan of Action, will constitute a Working Group to define the programme priorities for implementation of recommendations and the ideas of this Conference.

FURTHER ENDORSES the establishment of a high-level AU-NEPAD-UNESCO-Working Group to prepare a comprehensive programme for the establishment and funding of Centres of Excellence in Africa for the implementation of Africa's Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action.

9. In Africa, the African Ministerial Council on Science and Technology adopted in 2005 Africa's Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action, which is a framework for science, technology and innovation to respond to the socioeconomic challenges facing the continent.
9 - وفي أفريقيا، اعتمد المجلس الوزاري الأفريقي للعلم والتكنولوجيا خطة العمل الأفريقية الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا عام 2005، باعتبارها إطارا للعلم والتكنولوجيا والابتكار يمكن من خلاله التصدي للتحديات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية التي تواجه القارة.

28. As economic growth also depends on science innovations and technology transfers, in 2006 the African Union endorsed the Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action to enable Africa to harness and apply science, technology and related innovations to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development.
28 - وحيث إن النمو الاقتصادي يعتمد أيضا على نقل الابتكارات العلمية والتكنولوجيا، أقر الاتحاد الأفريقي خطة العمل الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا لتمكين أفريقيا من تسخير وتطبيق العلم والتكنولوجيا والابتكارات ذات الصلة للقضاء على الفقر وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.

11. The Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action also stipulated the creation of the Observatory for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy in Africa, which eventually was established by the Assembly of the African Union by its decision 232 (XII) of February 2009.
11 - كما نصّت خطة العمل الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا على إنشاء مرصد سياسات العلم والتكنولوجيا والابتكار في أفريقيا، وهو ما أفضى إلى إنشاء هذا المرصد بموجب قرار جمعية الاتحاد الأفريقي رقم 232 (د-12) المؤرخ شباط/فبراير 2009.

The cluster actively participated in the elaboration of the AU/NEPAD Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA), which was formally adopted by the AU Summit in Addis Ababa in January 2007.
وقد شاركت هذه المجموعة بنشاط في إعداد خطة العمل الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا في الشراكة الجديدة لتنمية أفريقيا (نيباد) التابعة للاتحاد الأفريقي، التي اعتمدها مؤتمر قمة الاتحاد الأفريقي رسمياً في أديس أبابا في كانون الثاني/ يناير 2007.

Although African countries have recognized the importance of science and technology especially through adoption of " Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA) " and the launch of the Pan African University by the AU, there is still a need to further increase attention on science and technology to both develop local capacity and better utilize existing capacity.
وبالرغم من أن البلدان الأفريقية قد اعترفت بأهمية العلم والتكنولوجيا ولا سيما من خلال اعتماد " خطة العمل الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا " وإنشاء جامعة البلدان الأفريقي من جانب الاتحاد الأفريقي ، لا تزال هناك حاجة لزيادة الاهتمام بالعلم والتكنولوجيا من أجل تطوير القدرة المحلية وتحسين استخدام القدرة الموجودة على حد سواء.

61. In support of the objectives of Africa's Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action and within the project on International Partnerships for New and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs provided support to Ghana and Senegal in developing master plans and road maps for science and technology parks.
61 - ودعما لأهداف خطة العمل الأفريقية الموحدة للعلم والتكنولوجيا وفي إطار المشروع المتعلق بالشراكات الدولية لتسخير التكنولوجيات الجديدة والناشئة لأغراض التنمية المستدامة، قدمت إدارة الشؤون الاقتصادية والاجتماعية الدعم إلى السنغال وغانا في وضع خطط رئيسية وخرائط طريق لإنشاء مجمعات للعلوم والتكنولوجيا.

The Science and Technology Cluster - coordinated by UNESCO - has been working in supporting and monitoring the process of the development of the AU " Africa's S & T Consolidated Plan of Action " ; the review, update and restructuring of S & T systems and policies in Africa and in supporting the Inter-agency Network on Biotechnology.
