One of its units, the Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production, working on sustainable production, has launched a Work Programme on Sustainable Consumption and Production that has been approved by the Contracting Parties of the Barcelona Convention and is also aiming to bring MAP closer to the Marrakech Process on sustainable consumption and production.

In terms of coastal and marine conservation, the Caribbean Environment Programme continues to be an important mechanism for regional cooperation, working closely with the Cartagena Convention Regional Activity centre for specially protected areas and wildlife, in particular on the listing of protected areas under the Protocol to the Convention, conservation of marine mammals and support to marine protected areas.
19 - وفيما يتعلق بحفظ السواحل والبحار، يظل البرنامج البيئي الكاريبي آلية هامة للتعاون الإقليمي، إذ يعمل في تعاون وثيق مع مركز النشاط الإقليمي للمناطق والحياة البرية المتمتعة بحماية خاصة المنبثق عن اتفاقية قرطاخنة، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بإدراج المناطق المتمتعة بالحماية (المحميات) في إطار بروتوكول الاتفاقية، وحفظ الثدييات البحرية وتقديم الدعم للمحميات البحرية.

A presentation on UNCITRAL work, standards and online resources, including CLOUT, was delivered to a group of young law professors and researchers at a Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) workshop in the context of UNCITRAL/GIZ Regional Activity in the Balkans (Tirana, 1-2 September 2011).
