The decision had been based on established procedures of consultation on the selection of subjects with participating organizations under a provision of the JIU statute.
وقد انبنى القرار على إجراءات راسخة من التشاور بشأن اختيار الموضوعات مع المنظمات المشارِكة في إطار حكم وارد في النظام الأساسي لوحدة التفتيش المشتركة.

In any event, each article of the proposed Regulations would need to be interpreted and applied in such a manner that the letter and spirit of the JIU statute would not be altered or affected.

In accordance with article 11.2 of the JIU statute and its standing practice, this report has been finalized after consultation among the Inspectors, so as to test its conclusions and recommendations against the collective wisdom of the Unit.

The Government of Japan accordingly would like to propose Ambassador Tadanori Inomata as the candidate for JIU, as we believe he is superbly qualified for the position in article 2, paragraph 1, of the JIU statute.
