In paragraph 2 the General Assembly would further decide that all provisions adopted by the General Assembly related to the imposition of an embargo on the supply of petroleum and petroleum products to South Africa, and on investment in the petroleum industry there, should cease to have effect as of the date on which the Transitional Executive Council becomes operational.
وفي الفقرة ٢ من المنطوق تقرر الجمعية العامة أيضا أن يتوقف ابتداء من التاريخ الذي يبدأ فيه المجلس التنفيذي الانتقالي أعماله سريان جميع ما اتخذته من أحكام متعلقة بفرض الحظر على توريد النفط والمنتجات النفطية إلى جنوب افريقيا وعلى الاستثمار في الصناعة النفطية هناك.

In view of that information, and with respect to paragraph 2 of the General Assembly resolution, which I have just read out, I am pleased to inform the Assembly that the embargo related to the supply of petroleum and petroleum products to South Africa and investment in the petroleum industry there is now lifted.

11. Invites SADC to consider the establishment of monitoring activities in the border areas adjacent to Angola for the purpose of reducing the opportunities for the smuggling of petroleum and petroleum products into areas under the control of UNITA, including through the monitoring of fuel supplies and transfers thereof;

In addition, the Centre serviced the Advisory Committee of the United Nations Educational and Training Programme for Southern Africa, the Commission against Apartheid in Sports, the Committee of Trustees of the United Nations Trust Fund for South Africa and the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa.

In accordance with that same decision - resolution 48/1 - and as a result of the Transitional Executive Council's assuming its functions, the embargo on the supply of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa was also lifted a few days ago.

I have received letters dated 7 December 1993 from the Chairmen of the Special Committee against Apartheid and the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa informing me that the Transitional Executive Council in South Africa is now operational.
ولقد تلقيت رسالتين مؤرختين في ٧ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣ من رئيس اللجنة الخاصة لمناهضة الفصل العنصري والفريق الحكومي الدولي لرصد توريد ونقل النفط والمنتجات النفطية إلى جنوب افريقيا ﻹبلاغي بــأن المجلس التنفيــذي الانتقالي في جنوب افريقيا يمارس عمله اﻵن.

It is an honour for me, on behalf of the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa, to introduce to the forty-eighth session of the General Assembly the Group's seventh and last report (A/48/93).

١٦ - الاعتماد المخصص لﻷنشطة العادية التي تضطلع بها اللجنة الخاصة لمناهضة الفصل العنصري والفريق الحكومي الدولي لرصد توريد ونقل النفط والمنتجات النفطية إلى جنوب افريقيا، المدرج تحت الباب ٣ ألف من الميزانية البرنامجية المقترحة لفترة السنتين ١٩٩٤-١٩٩٥، هو ٠٠٠ ٩٠٦ دولار.

In connection with the beginning of the activities of the Transitional Executive Council, the mandate of the Intergovernmental Group to Monitor the Supply and Shipping of Oil and Petroleum Products to South Africa is to be terminated, under draft resolution A/48/L.31/Rev.1.

1. The embargo on the sale or supply of petroleum and petroleum products to Haiti became automatically enforceable in Italy through the adoption on 24 June 1993 of regulation No. 93/1608 of the Council of the European Communities.

In consequence of the above, I have been instructed by the President, on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, to request that a meeting of the Security Council be convened as a matter of urgency to consider the lifting of the sanctions imposed on the importation of petroleum and petroleum products into the country, in paragraph 6 of Security Council resolution 1132 (1997) of 8 October 1997.
ونتيجة لما تقدم، أوعز إلي الرئيس، بالنيابة عن حكومة سيراليون، أن أطلب عقد اجتماع لمجلس اﻷمن على سبيل الاستعجال للنظر في رفع الجزاءات المفروضة على استيراد النفط والمنتجات النفطية إلى البلد، كما ورد في الفقرة ٦ من قرار مجلس اﻷمن ١١٣٢ )١٩٩٧( المؤرخ ٨ تشرين اﻷول/أكتوبر ١٩٩٧.
