Provide general policy guidance, including on any issues regarding implementation that may have implications for the work of the subsidiary bodies under the Protocol; and

8. " Subsidiary body " means those bodies established by Articles 9 and 10 of the Convention, as well as any body, including committees and working groups, established pursuant to Article 7(2)(i) of the Convention.
٨ - تعني " الهيئة الفرعية " أيﱠا من الهيئات الفرعية المنشأة بموجب المادتين ٩ و ٠١ من الاتفاقية، وكذلك أي هيئة، بما فيها اللجان أو اﻷفرقة العاملة، التي أنشئت عملاً بالمادة ٧ )٢( ' ١ ' من الاتفاقية.

To ensure full participation in the work of the Conference, it is recommended that representatives of Parties should be provided with full powers to participate in the session and, if necessary, to serve as officers of the COP at its sixth session and any sessional committees or working groups, as well as to serve as officers of the subsidiary bodies established under the Convention.
ولضمان المشاركة الكاملة في أعمال المؤتمر، يوصى بتخويل ممثلي الأطراف كامل الصلاحيات للمشاركة في الدورة، وإذا لزم الأمر، كأعضاء في مكتب مؤتمر الأطراف في دورته السادسة وفي ما قد يشكَّل من لجان أو أفرقة عاملة للدورة، وكذلك كأعضاء في مكتب الهيئات الفرعية المنشأة بموجب الاتفاقية.

However, Convention institutions having advisory functions, notably subsidiary bodies established under and by the Convention, could, if desired, serve the needs of a protocol, thereby avoiding the establishment of new institutions.

٣٢- وسيدعو الرئيس المنتخب للدورة الثالثة مؤتمر اﻷطراف إلى انتخاب بقية أعضاء مكتبه ورؤساء الهيئات الفرعية المنشأة بموجب المادتين ٩ و٠١ من الاتفاقية.
