States parties can also adopt more strict or severe measures than those provided for in the Convention, in line with article 65, paragraph 2, and decide to apply the disclosure obligations to family members of public officials and their close associates.

Although it is noted that, in practice, Cuba has not so far needed to take measures to protect witnesses or experts, it would be desirable to provide for additional measures to protect witnesses and experts who give testimony concerning corruption offences and to their relatives and other persons close to them (art. 32, paras. 1 and 2).
وعلى الرغم من أنَّ من الملاحظ أنَّ كوبا لم تضطر حتى الآن، من الناحية العملية، إلى اتخاذ تدابير لحماية الشهود أو الخبراء، فإنَّ من المستصوب النص على تدابير إضافية لحماية الشهود والخبراء الذين يدلون بشهادة تتعلق بجرائم الفساد وحماية أقاربهم وسائر الأشخاص الوثيقي الصلة بهم (المادة 32، الفقرتان 1 و2).
